Our registered optometrists are qualified to
- Determine and diagnose signs of eye disease such as: diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma, macula degeneration
- Detect and diagnose signs of health disorders involving the eyes
- Prescribe, supply and repair spectacles and sunglasses
- Prescribe, supply and fit contact lenses
- Prescribe specialised optical aids / magnifiers
- Prescribe and supply eye drops for treatment of sore, red, burning eyes etc
- Management of keratoconus – with the fitting of gas permeable contact lenses.
- Analyse and treat eye co-ordination disorders in children.
- Undertake foreign body removals – i.e. remove ingrown eyelashes, metal splinters from eyes etc.
- Advice on lighting and VDU use
- Advise on eye safety requirements for home, work and leisure
- Provide laser surgery referrals and co-management/ aftercare
- Advise on children’s vision
- Provide referrals to ophthalmologists / eye specialists

Allow approx ½ an hour for a thorough examination. Most examinations are directly bulk-billed to Medicare (refer payment methods heading for further information).
